The interview
What was your situation before discovering Thrive Academy?
My husband had had three strokes in two years. I was left as sole provider and caretaker. My stepfather, who was a huge mentor and support to me, had just passed away. I'd been teaching voice and theater for over 30 years, and I just needed to... like something inside me was just telling me I needed to change.
How did you first get involved with the program?
That's when I first discovered the five-day challenge. And I knew that was where I needed to be. At the end of the five-day challenge, I just felt so connected to Thrive, so connected to Sharla and the work that they do, just knowing this was the right place.
What were your biggest concerns before joining?
My biggest concern was financially. I wasn't making ends meet. I was getting help from my church and from the community for food and for rent. So for me to make that jump into Thrive was a pure leap of faith.
How has your approach to clients changed since attending the summit?
My approach to clients—I am going in to serve, but I'm also boldly asking to join me on a journey of great magnitude that's gonna help them achieve their goals. I think for a long time I was like, 'Please, please, please, please work with me.' And I have realized that what I have to offer is of huge benefit and huge value.
What specific changes have you made to your business offerings?
I'm offering bigger packages. I'm offering bigger offerings so that there's more worth and value in the products that I'm serving. You get more than just one thing. You get a whole bunch of everything moving you forward confidently to achieve your goals and your dreams.
How has your personal confidence evolved through this process?
You would think after 30 years and helping thousands of people that I had this confidence, but this knowing of even greater of who I am, that's changed. And that my worth as a coach, my worth as a person is huge. The weight that has been lifted up from me... I'm having fun doing it all.
What is your final advice for someone considering Thrive Academy?
Do it. Truly, you won't regret it. Invest in yourself. Invest in your business. Invest in that dream and that goal you have of making the world a better place because we need you. It can be scary. Just do it.
