Jeff Bowdish credits MyVisionFirst with restoring his ability to read books and eliminating chronic evening fatigue. After being told by neurologists and optometrists that his eyes and brain were healthy, Jeff used neuro-optometry to resolve severe glare sensitivity and sensory overload, allowing him to enjoy the outdoors and drive comfortably at night.

The interview

What changes have you noticed since working with MyVisionFirst?

Number one, I have more confidence. I enjoy going outside. I don't have glare as much, and I would run out of energy about 7 o'clock at night and just be so fatigued. I don't have any of that now. So I've noticed just tremendous improvements with that, and I want to be outside. Didn't want that before.

What symptoms were you struggling with before starting treatment?

I was struggling with several symptoms that were impacting my lifestyle and where I would live and basically what I was comfortable doing that was not creating tremendous amount of stress. Had not been able to sit down and read a book; I could see the words, but it was just too difficult. I was struggling with distance and glare.

What other solutions did you try before finding MyVisionFirst?

I would go to the doctor and say, 'Hey, I've got pressure on my eyes.' The optometrist said my eyes looked good and were very healthy. Then I went to a neurologist because I literally thought I was losing my mind, and the neurologist said I was healthy and my brain was great. I even dropped 50, 60 pounds and changed my lifestyle habits, but the eyes kept having problems.

How did you first learn about MyVisionFirst?

I learned about My Vision First from a podcast and realized in discussion that I had a lot of the symptoms, if not all of the symptoms that they were talking about.

What surprised you most about the experience?

I think what surprised me the most was my initial consultation when my expectations were low, and I was informed that the stuff I'd already done in my life was much harder than what they were gonna do. They asked me what would be a successful outcome, and I said, 'I just want to be able to read a book.' And that, definitely I've been able to do that.

Who would you recommend this therapy to?

I'd recommend My Vision First if you're experiencing any sort of issues or symptoms to where you walk into a mall and you're just overwhelmed by the stimulus from all the different lights. If you're driving at night and the bright lights coming at you are affecting a problem, or if you're just exhausted at night, even though you're really healthy.

Jeff Bowdish admitted his expectations were low during his initial consultation. However, the team at MyVisionFirst assured him he would see tremendous improvements, which he ultimately achieved by regaining his ability to read and stay energized.

Jeff Bowdish found significant relief from being overwhelmed by lights in malls and bright headlights while driving. He recommends the therapy for anyone struggling with environmental stimuli or exhaustion.

Since working with My Vision First, I've noticed several things. Number one, I have more confidence. I enjoy going outside. I don't have glare as much, and I would run out of energy about 7 o'clock at night and just be so fatigued. I don't have any of that now. So I've noticed just tremendous improvements with that, and I want to be outside. Didn't want that before. It was body ... My body was more comfortable in a more enclosed environment, and the glare is gone. My name is Jeff Bowdish, and I am retired, and I'm 56 years old. Before going to My Vision First, I was struggling with several symptoms that were impacting kind of my lifestyle and where I would live and basically what I was comfortable doing that was not creating tremendous amount of stress. Had not been able to sit down and read a book, and it was more of a, I could see the words, but it was just too difficult. I was struggling with distance. I was struggling with glare. I was struggling with basically a lot of things, and I kind of came to, to the conclusion that this was gonna be my life. I tried several things. The first thing that I tried was I would go to the doctor and say, "Hey, I've got pressure on my eyes. They just don't feel right." And then, of course, the eye doctor said the, the optometrist said my eyes looked good. They said they're very healthy. Maybe I've got problems with my gut health, and I got that checked. And then I went to the doctor that, the neurologist, and I literally thought I was losing my mind. The neurologist looked at me and said, "You're healthy. Your brain's great." That was the third person to say that. Then fast-forward a couple years later, by the way, I made all these lifestyle changes and dropped 50, 60 pounds, put on a lot of muscle, completely changed my lifestyle, my habits, my consistency, and I feel great, but the eyes kept having problems. Well, I learned about My Vision First from a podcast and realized in discussion that I had a lot of the symptoms, if not all of the symptoms that they were talking about. I think what surprised me the most out of My Vision First was my initial consultation when my expectations were low, and I was informed that the stuff I'd already done in my life was much harder than what they were gonna do. They asked me what would be a successful outcome, and I said, "I just want to be able to read a book." And that, definitely I've been able to do that. Then also said, "I think you're gonna find out that you're gonna be able to see tremendous improvements." I'd recommend My Vision First if you're experiencing any sort of issues or symptoms to where you walk into a mall and you're just overwhelmed by the, just the stimulus from all the different lights. If you're driving at night and the, the bright lights coming at you are so bright that it's just affecting a problem, or if you're just exhausted at night, even though you're really healthy. So I would say anybody who's struggling with fatigue, definitely would encourage them to consider this therapy.
