The interview

What was the initial approach Neal Conlon took with your coaching?

I think Neil's story is really great and the way that he approaches the problems. He was very you-centric. And what I mean by that is he tailored his approach based on the goals that I had and where I wanted to see myself as a people leader, but also as a professional.

What was happening in your leadership journey when you sought out Neal?

What was going on in my leadership journey was that we were at a point where we wanted to move into high performing team mentality. One of my coworkers had seen Neil on social media and thought that his approach and his methodology were perfectly aligned with where we wanted to go.

How did Neal support you specifically as a female leader?

Neil really empowered me as a female leader. I think that he specifically played into my strengths and helped me be more positive about the way I lead. Especially when you're a female leader, sometimes you tend to hold back a little bit because of stereotypes. Neil's approach was more of being proud of who you are and standing up for yourself.

How did Neal's coaching impact your contributions to the company?

I'm really proud of what I was able to contribute to the company because of Neil's guidance and coaching. Since we are a pharmaceutical company focused on patient outcomes, he encouraged me to really play into strategies and tactics that cater to the patients and make sure that our organization supported those and funded those appropriately.

What was the personal connection and accountability like during the process?

I think Neil's transparency and genuine nature are what I glammed onto right out of the gate. We connected within our first call and he's got such warmth and positivity, but more of a direct approach. It was a really nurturing relationship that helped me be accountable; he made sure I was clear on where my strengths lied, where my weaknesses were, and the path to improving both.

What specific business results did you see from working with Neal?

I was able to laser focus on the things that would drive action with our sales team and profitability for our company. We definitely saw that impact in the first two to three months. For myself personally, it gave me much more confidence and the ability to really drive forward my ideas and stand up for what I thought was the right course of action.

What would you say to someone undecided about working with Neal?

My suggestion would be just to spend some time with him. He's such a dynamic person. I was impressed out of the gate and we had one meeting and I immediately knew that he was the right person to put in front of our entire Salesforce. His story, the way he holds himself, and the way that he projects confidence is just really infectious.
