Can you tell us about your professional background and retirement goals?
My name is Dale Waltman. I'm a physical therapist, and I practice in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, and I've been practicing since the early 2000s, and I'm looking at retiring in the very near future. I was looking at a long-range plan to transition from working full-time to a part-time or completely retired status.
How did you discover Panic Proof Retirement?
I came upon Panic Proof Retirement upon a referral from my accountant. I didn't know anybody in the marketplace, and I have a good relationship with my accountant, and I trust his judgment. When I asked him regarding a referral, without hesitation, he recommended Dan Casey of Panic Proof Retirement.
What was your experience like during your meetings with Dan?
There's a number of times I can call him, and he's readily on the phone. Last meeting I had with him, it was a half-hour meeting. It ran, like, over an hour, and he didn't feel rushed. He was generally interested in planning. That made a good impression on me.
At what point did you feel confident in choosing this firm?
It was after the first one-on-one meeting that we had with him. We met him at one of his information seminars, set up an appointment, and after that appointment, I knew I was in good hands, and I could trust his judgment.
What specific benefits or insights did you gain from the planning process?
It gave me foresight. It gave me a look into the future far as the stability of my income, what I currently hold, and knowing how the transition from working full-time, expecting a weekly paycheck, will go going from that point to a retirement status.
How would you describe Dan Casey’s professional approach?
Dan's encouraging. He's informative. He's knowledgeable. He has your best interest in mind as a fiduciary, and I think that's also part of his psyche and his own personality.
What resources does the firm provide to help clients learn?
He does have information, both his Facebook account, his website, and what's extremely helpful is one of his books that he authored. It's a book that breaks down understanding Social Security, Medicare. It's easy to read, informative, and helps someone who is not familiar with that phase of their life become acclimated.
