The interview
Who are you and what was your business situation before meeting Vision Software?
I'm Cassidy Mayoral, co-founder and CRO of Sellup in Austin, Texas. Before meeting Dan with Vision Software, we were running an incredible program manually, but it involved a lot of human and time-intensive work. We were essentially running a Google Workspace empire.
What was your initial reaction to the possibilities Dan presented?
When Dan painted the picture of what was possible, he said all of that could live in one spot and be automated. I had to learn more, and I was very grateful we hopped on a call.
How did the build process work during the first few weeks?
As a co-founder-led business, we often have the same goal but different ways of approaching it. Dan acted as a liaison between our ideas, marrying them in the best way possible. When he showed us what he created the next week, we were like, 'Wow, you took what was in our heads and you brought it to life.'
What was the timeline for the project and did they meet it?
The turnaround speed really impressed us. We gave him a short deadline of about thirty days because we had a live event where we were pitching our services. In thirty days, he was able to give us a V1 option of the platform for our customers to work with and engage with.
How did Dan contribute to the product strategy beyond just coding?
When we would get excited about 'bells and whistles,' Dan was helpful in guiding us back to what is best for the customer and what is core to the service. He brought integrations and building methods to the table that we didn't even know were possible from his own experience.
What is the customer experience like on the new platform?
Clients go through the sales process on the platform and get a sneak peek. They receive drip emails that keep them engaged. Once they purchase, their entire life cycle lives there—from password resets to advisory sessions, summaries, and feedback. It's even integrated with Zoom so recorded calls are automatically there.
How would you describe the overall experience of working with Dan?
It has been the best experience possible. He is incredibly responsive, and when he says a deliverable is going to be done at a certain time, it's done. Compared to other agencies that cost $100K and take a year, this was a fraction of the investment and time with way better results.
Frequently asked
How does Vision Software compare to traditional development agencies?
Cassidy Mayoral noted that while other agencies quoted $100,000 and four to twelve months for development, Vision Software delivered better results in a fraction of that time and investment.
Can Vision Software handle tight deadlines for live events?
Yes, Sellup gave Vision Software a 30-day deadline to have a platform ready for a live pitching event, and Dan delivered a working V1 option that customers could engage with immediately.
Is Vision Software just a technical service or a strategic partner?
Cassidy described Dan as a strategic business partner who acted as a liaison between the founders' ideas, helping them connect dots and focus on core customer needs rather than just 'bells and whistles.'
