The interview
What has been your overall experience with HomeCareSales?
My overall experience is that I see business developers who have a lot of activity, but perhaps not as much production as you would think. But with HomeCareSales, over the 90 days plus they have been working with our business developers, I see we've gone from just activity to outcomes. Outcomes with breakthroughs with key referral sources.
What were the specific challenges your agency faced regarding referrals?
One of the challenges that we have had consistently with growing referrals was training and development of business developers, retention of business developers, and helping them strategically figure out how to develop referral sources in some of the largest referral partners such as hospitals, rehab facilities, and home health agencies.
Why did HomeCareSales feel like the right fit for your agency?
For a number of different reasons. One, credibility. HomeCareSales and Melanie Stover have been in our business as private duty home care consultants for 20 years at least, maybe 25 years. Two, accountability. They have put together a business development system that not only creates consistency but also accountability for weekly and monthly business plans.
What changes have you observed in your business developers since starting the program?
I've seen a level of enthusiasm and confidence from the business developers who have been working with HCS. Having that supportive partner to be able to vet ideas, talk about strategies, and break through roadblocks has really reinforced the coaching and training they receive.
How has the training impacted their performance in the field?
They've used all of that support and knowledge to become a little bit more strategic when they were out in the field and that has led to success.
Who would you recommend HomeCareSales to?
I would strongly recommend HomeCareSales to any agency owners or operators who are serious about scaling their business, growing their business, or perhaps even going into new territories. I would strongly encourage them to at least have a conversation to see if they are the right fit.
