The interview

What is your background and why are you part of the Healthspan Collective?

I work across a lot of different areas within the wellness community, of which healthspan and longevity are one of the sectors. For me, wellness really is about healthspan. If I'm able to support the founders and businesses that are trying to bring more healthy options to the world, then that's what I'm all about, and that's why I'm part of the Healthspan Collective.

How did you first get involved with the organization?

I've been involved in the wellness business community for probably about a dozen years, and I found out about the Healthspan Summit events. I went to my first one that Elias and his team put together, got to know Elias, and saw how great the community was that he was building. When he created this Healthspan Collective, it was just a natural because I felt like it really filled an incredible need.

What does the term 'healthspan' mean to you personally?

Healthspan, for me, means it's really living your best life across mind, body, and soul, where you're really able to remain healthy enough to really, truly live your best life and enjoy your life and be productive. I like the term healthspan better than longevity because it's not just a destination of trying to reach a number; it insinuates that across my entire being, I am living my best life.

What specific features of the Healthspan Collective do you find most valuable?

I like that they're very curated events with very specific topics, and they're held in relevant locations. Bringing all those together with the right people is something that is very difficult to do. They've been able to capture all of the elements of building a successful community very quickly.

What was missing in the industry before this community existed?

Before this, there wasn't a community built directly around healthspan professionals where we could get together and really learn from each other, build a community, support one another, and for me, ultimately find the right people to continue to do business with.

How does the size of these events impact your networking?

One of the biggest challenges is that many events are not curated. These events are intentionally kept smaller. Because of that, I'm able to make much more meaningful connections with people and also truly get to know them, whereas at larger events, you maybe get a few minutes to speak to someone and that's it.

Who would you recommend this community to?

If you are interested in the healthspan, longevity, biohacking, wellness business community, there's no better curated salon-style opportunity than this, to be able to get together with like-minded individuals where you're learning so much.

Frequently asked

How do Healthspan Collective events differ from large wellness conferences?

Kieve Huffman notes that while large events often result in only a few minutes of superficial conversation, Healthspan Collective uses intentional, smaller, and curated gatherings. This format allows professionals to truly get to know one another and understand how they can add mutual value.

Is there a professional community specifically for healthspan experts?

According to Kieve Huffman, there previously wasn't a community built directly around healthspan professionals for peer learning and support. He joined Healthspan Collective because it filled this specific need for a dedicated business ecosystem.

Are Healthspan Collective events worth attending for business growth?

Yes, Huffman describes the experience as 'gratifying and productive,' stating that the curated salon-style opportunities are the best way to find the right people to continue doing business with in the longevity space.

Full transcript

I work across a lot of different areas within the wellness community, of which healthspan and longevity are one of the sectors. And for me, though, they all tie in together because it's about wellness. And for me, wellness really is about healthspan. At the end of the day, if I'm able to support the founders and businesses that are trying to bring more healthy options to the world and create more opportunities for people to be able to have a longer healthspan, then for me, that's what I'm all about, and that's why I'm part of the Healthspan Collective. Hi, my name is Kieve Huffman, and what brought me to Healthspan is I've been involved in the wellness community, business community for probably about a dozen years, and I found out about the Healthspan Summit events, and I went to my first one that Elias and his team put together, and I got to know Elias, and I got to see how great the community was that he was building there. And then I got involved in his next event. And from there, when he created this Healthspan Collective, for me, it was just a natural because I already felt like it really filled an incredible need. Healthspan, for me, means it's really living your best life across mind, body, and soul, where you're really able to, you know, remain healthy enough to really, truly live your best life and enjoy your life and be productive. I like the term healthspan better than longevity because it's not just a destination of trying to reach a number as like, "Oh, I wanna live to be 100." It's like, "No, I wanna have the longest healthspan that I can have," and that insinuates that across my entire being of mind, body, and soul, I am living my best life. And for me, that's what Healthspan's all about. What I've liked about the Healthspan Collective so far is that they're very curated events with very specific topics, and they're held in relevant locations. And bringing all those together with the right people is something that is very difficult to do. I've been involved with a lot of different organizations throughout the years, and one of the things that I really appreciate about Healthspan Collective is that they've been able to capture all of the elements of building a successful community very quickly. Before this, there wasn't a community built directly around healthspan professionals where we could get together and really learn from each other, build a community, support one another, and for me, ultimately find the right people to continue to do business with. I think one of the biggest challenges within the healthspan and longevity business community is that there are so many different events, and often they are not curated. And what I have really found effective for these events is that they've been curated so that I know the types of people that are going to be at d- each of these events, and they're also intentionally kept smaller. Because of that, I'm able to make much more meaningful connections with people and also truly get to know them. That's a big challenge with a lot of these larger events. We're in this room with all these people, and maybe you get a few minutes to speak to someone, and that's it. Whereas the Healthspan Collective events, I'm able to create a much more meaningful connection and also ultimately understand where I can potentially add value to them and vice versa. My mission is to bring more natural holistic healing to the Americas, and h- the healthspan pillar within that is one of the most powerful ones. So the fact that I'm able to make these connections has been really gratifying and productive. If you are interested in the healthspan, longevity, biohacking, wellness business community, there's no f- better curated salon-style opportunity than this, to be able to get together with like-minded individuals where you're learning so much, and it's organized in a way that is quite different from most other types of communities. The final thing I would add is that we're at an inflection point right now in the world with all of the different turmoil that's going on out there. People need more education and understanding about how they can better take care of themselves without relying on the traditional healthcare system. Healthspan Collective is a pillar within this sort of new direction that is going to help us make this place a healthier and better place to live.
