The interview

Who was the client and what was the initial situation?

My mother, Julie Pardi, was a client of Empowered Endings. Mom's health was declining. We were just looking for the absolute best solution for Mom that fit into her mission. Things were just becoming more challenging; she was struggling a little bit more, more pain, more confusion.

How did you find Empowered Endings?

We stumbled across a nursing team that one of the nurses inevitably recommended Dr. Bob and Empowered Endings to be a better solution for Mom's healthcare.

What was your state of mind before working with Dr. Bob?

We didn't know what her diagnosis was. We didn't know what she was struggling with. I would say at that point, we had so many more questions than answers. We were just trying to keep the balls in the air and just trying to stay afloat as she struggled.

What was the initial meeting with Dr. Bob like?

The initial meeting was very organic. Dr. Bob was very well-spoken. He's genuine. He's kind. He's interested in getting to know our mother, us as well, and pretty quickly we felt a connection. We were comfortable moving forward.

How did Dr. Bob approach your mother's specific care needs?

Instead of trying to fit Mom or the patient into his practice, he was trying to figure out how he could develop a solution around Mom, given the resources that he had available to him. He was just listening, gathering information, just wanting to be part of the process.

What kind of treatments or therapies did he recommend?

Bob practices integrative medicine. He was always looking to, instead of prescribe a different medication, he was looking to prescribe therapies, aquatherapy or music therapy or just encourage Mom to get out in the garden more often. He was pulling from his resources from all toolboxes.

How did the experience change for the family after hiring Empowered Endings?

I think we went from wondering what we could do, what more could we do, feeling like we were not doing enough for our loved one to feeling like we were doing everything that we could. It made us feel better, like we were delivering support and care to our mom.

What is your final advice for someone considering Empowered Endings?

Dr. Bob has all the tools in the world, and he's very patient and kind. There's just a level of care and attention that you won't get from a traditional healthcare provider and someone that is going to be partnering with you through an extremely tough period of life.

He put a lot of attention into his relationship with Mom, and it, I think, really, really put her at ease and made her feel comfortable knowing that she had someone that she could trust, that gave her privacy, that supported her through that challenging time. He worked very closely with all of us, but he always made her feel number one, and, like, what she wanted and needed was the most important out of everything. Chris Bailey. My mother, Julie Pardi, was a client of Empowered Endings. Richard Bailey, Julie Pardi's son, and Julie was a client of Dr. Bob. Mom's health was declining. We were just looking for the absolute best solution for Mom that fit into her mission. We stumbled across a nursing team that one of the nurses inevitably recommended Dr. Bob and Empowered Endings to be a better solution for Mom's healthcare. Things were just becoming more challenging with Mom. She was struggling a little bit more, more pain, more confusion, and it became clear that the team that we had around Mom was not specifically focused on this area of care, and so it became important that we find folks that were. Dr. Bob and Empowered Endings specifically being focused on being able to help Mom in this stage as she continued to advance. We didn't know what her diagnosis is, was. We didn't know what she was struggling with. I would say at that point, we had so many more questions than answers. But through finding the right team to work with, we started to figure out which one of those questions mattered, which one of those didn't, finding certain answers, and then based on that, we started to feel like we were more in charge of her journey versus just trying to keep the balls in the air and just trying to stay afloat as she struggled. The initial meeting was very organic. Dr. Bob was very well-spoken. He's genuine. He's kind. He's interested in getting to know our mother, us as well, and pretty quickly we, we felt a connection. We were comfortable moving forward. Instead of trying to fit Mom or the patient into his practice, he was trying to figure out how he could develop a solution around Mom, given the resources that he had available to him through his practice to support her through her journey. So he was just kinda listening, gathering information, just wanting to be part of the process. When we brought Bob in, it just felt a little bit more like we could kinda all come together and work towards this more challenging period of Mom's deteriorating health. To me, it wasn't really about, like, Mom getting more care. I think it was more about having someone that could come to her on a regular basis, that could see in her house the challenges that she was facing, and being able to either augment or add to the care that we already had in place. Bob practices integrative medicine. He was always looking to, instead of prescribe a different medication, he was looking to prescribe therapies, aquatherapy or music therapy or just encourage Mom to get out in the garden more often. One of my favorite things about Dr. Bob is that he really truly was not looking to have any type of a magic bullet solution. It was very much just hearing, listening, supporting, just being real pragmatic, and I thought he did an excellent job of just pulling from his resources from all toolboxes. We're grateful for that blessing and all that he brought with his experience and wisdom. Dr. Bob was there whenever we needed him, really. He communicated directly with the care team that we had around Mom. Just organically, he was driving a lot of the process, but in a very reasonable quality of experience way. Knowing that we had someone coming to the house, looking inside of Mom's world, looking to support her was certainly a peace of mind for us to just bring joy to Mom's life on a daily basis. Just try to stay in the moment and not get too far ahead of ourselves. Dr. Bob does an elite job of just being a human and just being there for his patients and supporting them how he can. He really did a good job personalizing another healthcare practice. We're grateful for that. I think we went from wondering what we could do, what more could we do, feeling like we were not doing enough for our loved one to feeling like we were doing everything that we could. And even though the answers were tough and the journey was tough, it made us feel better, like we were delivering support and care to our mom, and Dr. Bob was a huge part of that. If you're thinking about working with Empowered Ending, Dr. Bob has all the tools in the world, and he's very patient and kind, and he really-- He's a good listener, and he really tries to support this patient's mission, what's gonna be the best for them. There's just a level of care and attention that you won't get from a traditional healthcare provider and someone that is going to be partnering with you through an extremely tough period of life for every member of the family. Dr. Bob and Empowered Endings fit very well into that model for us, so that we could all work through that together, and it very much felt like partners in, in trying to deliver the best journey for our loved one as we possibly could.
