Dr. Eckel has a lot of great new ideas and he has a lot of hope for people and I think that's really good when you have something like Parkinson's that you don't lose your hope.
I think one of the best things is that it's individualized towards me and not just take this pill because this is what's supposed to do with Parkinson's.
If you don't try, it's not going to work... If you do it may just be the best thing that ever happened to you.

The interview

What was your life like before working with Dr. Eckel?

Before working with Dr. Eckel my life was probably sort of mundane because I had been to a functional neurologist before but I felt like we had kind of reached a bit of an impasse. I wanted to be trying something new and Dr. Eckel has a lot of great new ideas and he has a lot of hope for people.

What were your original expectations and feelings about the treatment?

Original expectations were just excited but a little bit fearful because I didn't know enough information, other than just knowing that I did want to try the stem cells and get that going.

How did you feel about the environment and staff at the center?

Everyone is so nice, it doesn't matter and if there's something that you disagree with or that you don't fall in line with exactly nobody's holding you, nobody's judging you or holding you in contempt. They genuinely care about each one and they try to make it individualized towards me and not just 'take this pill because this is what you're supposed to do with Parkinson's.'

How does Dr. Eckel's approach compare to traditional neurology?

It's nice to see that there's someone so hopeful because honestly you go to a regular neurologist and they tell you that they don't give you a lot of hope and they tell you you're going to get worse. All the things that you don't really need to hear because it takes your hope and it takes your will to want to keep going. With Dr. Eckel he was very positive and he had great ideas.

What would you say to someone who is hesitant to try this program?

Don't wait, just do it. It's worth it and what have you got to lose? If you don't do anything new to try to help yourself and try to get better, it's not gonna go anywhere, it's gonna be exactly where you are today. Sometimes you just have to take a big giant leap of faith and do the thing that you kind of have an idea that would be helpful.

Frequently asked

Is bVital a good fit for Christians or people with specific religious beliefs?

Donna Long, a Christian, noted that while some spiritual aspects of the center differed from her views, she felt entirely respected and never judged. She emphasized that the staff embraced her with open arms, allowing her to focus on the treatments she felt comfortable with.

What makes bVital different from a regular neurologist for Parkinson's?

According to Donna, regular neurologists often take away hope by focusing on decline, whereas Dr. Eckel at bVital provided a positive environment with new ideas and individualized therapies beyond just medication.

Are stem cells the only treatment offered at bVital for Parkinson's?

No, Donna explained that while she came for stem cells, the center offers a wide variety of machines and therapies that work together. She described the approach as individualized rather than a one-size-fits-all pill.

Don't wait, just do it. It's worth it and what have you got to lose? I mean, if you like I said if you don't do it, if you don't do anything new to try to help yourself and try to get better, it's not gonna go anywhere, it's gonna be exactly where you are today and you're not gonna go forward. So just step out in faith and do it and be positive and just have faith. Donna Long and I live in Jeffersonville, Kentucky. Well, before working with Dr. Eckel my life was probably sort of mundane because I had been to a functional neurologist before but I felt like we had kind of reached bit of a impasse and I wanted to be trying something new and Dr. Eckel has a lot of great new ideas and he has a lot of hope for people and I think that's really good when you have something like Parkinson's that you don't lose your hope and so I kind of look for things to be better when I get back home to have a new boost in life and being able to feel better so that I can do more things and get my energy back and my life back. Well, original expectations were just excited but a little bit fearful because I didn't know enough information. You know, other than just knowing that I did want to try the stem cells get that going. The difference is I think that there's more spiritual things that I don't really go along with and so I don't have a problem with other people doing whatever they feel is necessary but I was able to be who I am as a Christian and be here and that's what I would recommend because everyone is so nice, it doesn't matter and if there's something that you disagree with or that you don't fall in line with exactly nobody's holding you, nobody's judging you or holding you contempt or there's no hard feelings or anything like that but it was good to be able to have those moments when I could just be do the things that I know that would help Parkinson's and to press forward in the direction that I feel comfortable in that's because everybody's different and everyone here is just super great. It's nice to see that there's someone so hopeful because honestly you go to a regular neurologist and they tell you that they don't give you a lot of hope and they tell you you're going to get worse. All the things that you don't really need to hear because it takes your hope and it takes your will to want to keep going. I can see why people give up but with Dr. Eckel he was very positive and he had great ideas, lots of things we can do and that's why he wanted me to come for to the camp and to experience all the different machines. It's not just stem cells, it's stem cells are yes but there's lots of different things that can that's available that you don't really know about unless you happen to go ahead and take the chance and come and trust and that's what I did. I think that's very important that they're just embrace you with open arms. It's like they want to help, they want to be here. This isn't just a job to them. They genuinely care about each one and they try to make it as the thing I think I like one of the best things is that it's individualized towards me and not just take this pill because this is what supposed to do with Parkinson's. Sometimes you just have to take a big giant leap of faith and do the thing that you kind of have an idea that would be helpful but because there's thing with Parkinson's it's very fearful thing to have and it makes people fearful so they tend to not want to do things because they're afraid it wouldn't work or whatever but I think the thing is to just try it because if you don't try, it's not going to work, don't come and if you don't try to get better. If you do it may just be the best thing that ever happened to you.
